SeaWorld’s Spring Into Night

3/27/10 – 4/25/10 Spring into Night combines even more SeaWorld fun with amazing nighttime experiences when the park is open late – til 9 p.m. As the suns sets, you can rock to the sights and sounds of Shamu, laugh with sea lions Clyde and Seamore and be amazed by spectacular fireworks. Start rockin’ daily March 27-April 11 and weekends April 17-18 & 24-25.

Sham Rock St. Patrick’s Day Festival

March 17th brings the luckiest block party in the Gaslamp Quarter! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the ultimate outdoor party.  With over 40,000 square foot Astroturf, they literally turn the streets green! Party includes live rock & roll and punk rock bands, super fun DJs, special entrance to clubs and bars, and of course, Irish food & green beer! Ticketed event/21 and up only. 2010 San Diego Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

SAN DIEGO, CA   The Irish Congress of Southern California is proud to announce that its 30th Annual San Diego St. Patrick’s Day Parade (the largest Parade west of the Mississippi) will step off on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Fifth Avenue at Laurel Street as thousands of marchers and spectators gather to celebrate the Patron Saint of Ireland. 

 

The Parade travels up Fifth Avenue from Laurel to Upas Street and then returns down Sixth Avenue to Laurel. An event filled Irish Festival will follow in Balboa Park.

There will be over 150 Parade entries. Come and see Bagpipers and High School Marching Bands, Police and Fire Department Units, Floats, Dancing Groups, Marching and Equestrian Units, Clowns, Dignitaries and Honorees, Representatives from Ireland, Antique Cars and more. The Theme of this year’s Parade is “Unity with the Community, with special thanks to our Military and Veterans.”

 

Our Irish Festival in Balboa Park (Sixth Avenue and Maple Street) runs from 10 am to 5 pm and features Entertainment on 2 Stages with Irish Folk singers and we will have Irish Step Dancers, Irish Crafts, Food Booths, Celtic Village, Beer Garden, and a Kid Zone with rides. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend.

 

Other events include a Catholic Mass held in the Imperial House, 505 Kalmia Street, at 8 a.m. conducted by the oldest practicing Priest in California, Msgr. Patrick O’Neill, and a Military Flag Raising ceremony at Sixth Avenue and Maple at 10 a.m.  Our main Parade sponsor is Guinness.

Flower Fields Ranunculus Tours

3/01/10 – 5/09/10

 Flower Fields Ranunculus Tours. Every year from early March to early May, The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch blossom into a spectacular sea of brightly colored ranunculus flowers. Visitors can view and tour the fields in Carlsbad. Open to the public seven days a week, 9am to 6pm. Interstate 5 to Palomar Airport Road Exit. Head east one block and turn left on Paseo Del Norte. Make a right into the first driveway. Guided tours must be arranged in advance.
